"Strategic thinking is a business imperative - in all times."
Dr Julia Sloane, Columbia University

According to Sloane, there is a significant difference between Strategic Thinking, Strategic Planning, and Strategic Execution.

We get caught up in planning and execution, often negating the importance of thinking aspects.

True strategic thinking requires that leaders learn to deal with ambiguity, live in a world of paradox resolving competition priorities and directions, and are able to juggle opposing views to find the best solutions.

Strategic thinking is a skill, a set of tools, that can be learned.
